12 Months MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction, Engineering or other related field, or High School Diploma and 5 years supervisory experience in facilities management.
2.
Five (5) years successful experience in leadership and supervisory role managing large groups of employees in facilities or schools.
3.
Knowledge of rules and regulations of State Board of Education, School Board and state and federal laws.
4.
Experience in developing and using automated information systems and computer technology.
5.
Proven ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
6.
Experience in handling employee evaluations, labor relations, conferencing and documenting resolution.
7.
Ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Supervise, train, schedule and coordinate all custodial maintenance, assigned staff for the District including Grounds, Warehouse, Equipment Operators, Athletic Fields Specialist, and Painter.
2.
Assists Director of Maintenance Building Service and Projects in the supervision, training, scheduling and coordination of Maintenance and facilities staff.
3.
Properly respond to concerns of parents, schools and other customers in a timely manner.
4.
Establish standards and maintain an on-going employee training program for custodial employees which focus on production, safety, customer service.
5.
Develop and maintain Custodial Procedure Handbook/Manual, department guidelines and policies for all custodial employees.
6.
Develop and maintain a systematic program for the improvement and updating the skills of area managers, plant managers and other custodial employees.
7.
Consult with the district negotiating team in preparation for collective bargaining.
8.
Responsible for development and monitoring of the custodial department budget.
9.
Develop procedure and monitor staffing assignment and allocation to sites.
10.
Develop and maintain a system for implementing employee disciplinary actions which include documentation of complaints and accidents.
11.
Conduct required performance evaluations of all personnel assigned.
12.
Coordinate pest control for all school and District Offices.
13.
Coordinate solid waste pick up and recycling.
14.
Coordinates Staffing and FTE monitoring.
15.
Ordering for Custodial Services and equipment.
16.
Coordinates emergency response.
17.
Coordinates White Fleet oversight.
18.
Perform assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
19.
Perform assigned tasks with a high standard of quality.
20.
Perform other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMAND CLASS:
Light (L) - Frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing 10 pounds or less.
Infrequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing 11-35 pounds.
Frequent walking and/or standing is required to carry out duties.
